This integration saves your OpenAI API key in Madyis Hub. It powers the AI features that help your agents during conversations: improving and rephrasing replies, fixing spelling, summarizing a conversation, suggesting a reply, the "Madyis Assistant", and automatic label suggestions.

## How it works

You paste an OpenAI API key obtained from your OpenAI account. Madyis Hub stores this key at the account level and uses it to call the AI model whenever an agent asks for writing help, a summary, or a suggestion. OpenAI usage is then billed to your own OpenAI account.

## Step by step

1. Create an account on platform.openai.com and generate an API key with an active payment method.
2. In Madyis Hub, open the "Integrations" menu.
3. Click the "OpenAI" card, then "Connect".
4. Paste your API key into the "API Key" field and save.
5. Optional: check "Show label suggestions" so the AI proposes labels on conversations.
6. Open a conversation and check that the writing-help button (sparkle icon) and the floating assistant are now active.

## Good to know

- Without a connected OpenAI key, the AI agent-assist buttons and the floating assistant stay greyed out.
- Keep your API key secret: don't share it, and revoke it from OpenAI if it leaks.
- Usage costs are charged to your OpenAI account, independently of your Madyis Hub plan.
